Day 7 - Castle Rock, WA to Astoria, OR! - 66.71 miles

Austin got a fever. We had to stop riding because Austin is sick. That's not an Oregon Trail Joke. We bought 10 Clif Bars at the Trading Post but could only carry 6. That's an Oregon Trail Joke.

We're thrilled to be in state #2 - especially since we may have taken our last ferry to cross the Columbia River leaving Washington. Astoria is beautiful and Austin milked his illness for a night in a hotel on the water with a great view and great amenities!

  1. not sure what's worse, biking after puking or losing your second knife in as many months. surprised you guys didn't think to raft down the river when those ferries were late - after all, you were on your way to Oregon...

  2. Actually, now each of us has lost one. There were no natives to hire for rafting. And the week 2 Lewis and Clark Award...

  3. Uphill is only supposed to be about the gradient: what are you guys about: the hills aren't enough, you have to add puking?
How are you feeling Austin? I hope it was a 24 hour thing?
Are you actually on the Oregon trail? you know I taught a unit on it in multiage...our version was way easier: virtual hills and hardships all the way
